Your comments, corrections and additions are always welcome. Some languages do not have definite articles "the". Many use an array of symbols, accent marks, etc. that are well beyond the scope of this effort.

We define "the beach" as that place and volume of loose materials (cobbles, sand, mud, etc.) at the land-water interfaces of the earth. We have separate words for lines on maps (coastline, shoreline, etc.) . Hopefully, all the meanings above are in this sense of "the beach".
