Soccer field near the UD stadium

On wednsdays in summer, we sometime play here if the other two fields are occupied. It is relatively more difficult to find the location. The field is behind the stadium and can be reached by passing the stadium through the north side.

  • Direction

    From the UD campus: Go down on South College Avenue. There is a bridge over the railway near the Newark railway station. Turn left at first traffic light after the bridge, follow that small road. Turn left at the first cross, then on you left , you can see a farm full of cows (no male?), on you right, it is the big field with two soccer goals. Find an entrance to get in.

    From I-95 south: Get on North 896 at exit 1. The road will be also called South College Avenue. After about five traffic lights there is a bridge with railway under it. Turn right at the last traffic light before the bridge. (I am sorry I cannot make it clearer because I am not very formilar to there. If you crossed the bridge, you know what you should do). Then, follow the indication above.

    From I-95 north: This is not the best way, but convinience for new comers. Getting off I-95 at exit 109B (B of boy), you will be automatically on Road 2 north (Elkton Road). Keep going for about three mile to the END of this road. You have to turn right there. Make another right turn at the second traffic light, which is about 100m away, onto south 896. You are driving along the campus wall now. After two flashing yellow traffic lights, you will reach a 'steady' traffic light (not flashing) at the corner of the school yard. Pass it and keep going until you cross a bridge. Then follow the indication above.

    If you missed it, I suggest you go back to where you are sure where you are, and try it again. haha.
