Short Courses will be held Aug 30, 31, Sept 1 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Field Trips will be scheduled after the conference to tour the Florida coasts.
Conference subjects include the theory, measurement, and case studies on the following:
- coastal oceanography and meteorology: wind, waves, currents, and water levels,
- coastal sediment processes: motion, transport, morphological change,
- shore protection: nourishment, bypassing, hard structures, hybrid projects,
- coastal structures: design, stability, construction,
- coastal environment: recreation, water quality, wetlands, estuaries,
- dredging, harbors, and ports.
Authors must present a final version of their paper for the Proceedings by December 15, 1996. The Conference Proceedings will be published by the Coastal Engineering Research Council of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Approximately 427 papers will be presented at the meeting, due to the unprecedented interest
in the conference. Five concurrent sessions will be held, with talks limited to 20 minutes
each, as opposed to the previous conferences with 30 minutes per paper.
